Future Vision

Based on substantial learning gained through long years of field experience and taking cue from the challenges and demands of emerging trends, FREED has decided to focus its attention in future on:

  • Addressing issues and challenges posed by climate change with focus on drinking water, food security, livelihood and bio-diversity.
  • Promoting collective action for protecting water sources and other natural resource bases.
  • Promoting lease-land cultivation of food crops, with focus on paddy.
  • Revival of coconut cultivation and diversification of value-added coconut products.
  • Revival of moribund traditional crafts and promotion of product innovation.
  • Strengthening and extension of the JLG approach into more productive areas.
  • Promotion of natural/organic farming.
  • Promotion of holistic health.

Along with this new programmatic thrust, FREED also intends to strengthen the SHG movement and micro-finance program with upgraded capacity building inputs.
